If we're 'liberating' Iraq by spreading democracy there, how about our other 'friends?'?

Why is it that we allow Musharref to quash democracy in Pakistan, and how about our other 'friend,' Saudi Arabia (you know, where most of the pigs who flew into buildings on 9/11 came from?), where there's no such thing as democracy? Why is Iraq our democratic beach head?
